Do I need a GST/HST number to use Clear Bill?
No, but you can add your CRA Business Number for it to appear on invoices.
What happens after the free trial?
You move to the free plan (3 invoices/month, 1 user). Upgrade anytime for unlimited invoices and team access.
How does per-seat pricing work?
Each user on your account costs $5/month (or $50/year). The first Accountant seat is free. When you add or remove team members, your next bill is automatically prorated.
What is the free Accountant seat?
Every company gets one free Accountant seat. Accountants have read-only access to invoices, expenses, payments, and reports with CSV/GIFI export. Additional accountants are billed at $5/seat.
What's the difference between Admin and Staff roles?
Admin accounts manage settings and team members. Staff accounts work with invoices, expenses, clients, and vendors. If someone needs both, they would use two separate seats.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, no contracts. Cancel from your account settings.
Is my data stored in Canada?
Yes, our database is hosted in Canada.
What's included in the free trial?
You get 14 days of full Pro access with no credit card required. This includes unlimited invoices, team features, email delivery, PDF generation, and all reporting features.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards through Stripe. Your payment information is securely handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
How do I export my data?
All reports (Tax, GIFI, and Profit & Loss) can be exported as CSV files. You can download invoice PDFs at any time.
Do you have a mobile app?
Clear Bill is a responsive web app that works great on mobile browsers. A native mobile app is on our roadmap.
